WHAT ARE THE CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR OUR PROPERTIES?
Cancellation and early termination: If the tenant terminates the contract before the rental period starts and doesn’t name a replacement that accepts the same terms, then they are responsible for paying the following percentages of the rental price to cover costs, as long as a further rental is not possible:
– up to 90 days before rental period: 30 % of rental price
– up to 60 days before rental period: 60 % of rental price
– otherwise (less than 30 days before rental period) 100 % of rental price.
WHY DO SOME PROPERTIES HAVE FEWER REVIEWS THAN OTHERS ?
Some properties may be new to Private Properties or guests may have not yet left a review. As time goes by properties will gradually acquire more reviews.
WHAT TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION CAN I EXPECT TO FIND ON PRIVATE PROPERTIES ?
We offer a broad range of property types including: apartment, villa, chateau, boat, chalet, cottage, house, farmhouse or even an island!
WHAT DETAILS ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY ARE AVAILABLE ?
We give an approximate map location of the property as well as the zip code and city. We will disclose the exact address of the property once a booking has been made in order to protect the privacy of the owner.
WHAT PHOTOS CAN I SEE OF THE PROPERTY ?
We aim to provide a minimum of 10 high quality photos of each property (usually a lot more) so as the viewer can gain a full overview of the property they are viewing. We arrange the photos in such a way as to give the viewer a ‘guided tour’ of the property and grounds.
WHY ARE PRICES DIFFERENT FOR CERTAIN DATES ?
The owners of the property are welcome to change the prices of their property given the period of the year. This can be due to popularity of the seasons. Please note that some dates may be unavailable and this is the decision of the property owner.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO STAY IN A PARTICULAR PROPERTY ?
This varies for each individual property. You can find details of the maximum number of guests on each property page.
HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF A PARTICULAR PROPERTY ?
At the bottom of each property page there is an ‘Availability calendar’ where you will be able to see when the particular property is available. Alternatively, click on the “Enquire Now” button at the top and bottom of the property profile page and send us your request. Our dedicated team will get back to you as quickly as possible.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER I MAKE A BOOKING ?
If you cannot commit to a booking please let us know as soon as possible by clicking on the ‘contact us’ tab at the top of the page and send us an email or phone us with the details of your booking.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE ACCEPTANCE/REFUSAL FOR A BOOKING REQUEST ?
We aim to respond to a booking request as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours although we usually will respond a lot quicker than this. If your booking request is refused due to unavailability we will assist you in finding an alternative property. Our dedicated team is well acquainted with our portfolio and can assist with any of your preferences.
DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT FOR THE PROPERTY DURING MY STAY ?
Private Properties currently doesn’t process deposits for our property owners. Please note that a fee will be charged for theft/damage to the property or its contents during your stay.
HOW DOES THE KEY HANDOVER WORK ?
We will be in contact with you to discuss time and place of the key handover, if this is different to the location of the accommodation.
WHICH METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED FOR MAKING A BOOKING ?
We accept all major credit cards and paypal.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE A PROBLEM UPON ARRIVAL AT MY ACCOMMODATION ?
If you get in contact with us, whatever the issue, we will try and resolve it as quickly and discreetly as possible.
WHAT IF I WANT TO RENT SHORTER THAN THE MINIMUM STAY ?
If you wish to stay fewer nights than the minimum stated click on the ‘contact us’ tab with the property name and dates you wish to rent for and we will try and arrange it with the property owner.
WHAT IF I FORGET MY LOGIN PASSWORD ?
You can reset/create a new password by clicking the ‘Reset Password’ button.
HOW DO I CREATE AN ACCOUNT ?
Signing up and creating a Private Properties account is easy and totally free. You can sign up with your email via the login page by clicking ‘Create New Account’. You will find the Login page at the top right of our homepage.
HOW DOES THE EXCHANGE RATE WORK ?
Exchange rates fluctuate all the time. Private Properties ensures that we use the most competitive exchange rate possible – usually direct from respectable banks.
DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE VAT ?
VAT is included in all of our prices unless stated otherwise.
CAN CATERING BE ORGANIZED ?
