We stayed at La Haule in Douvres-La-Delivrande in the Normandy area very near Bayeux for a most wonderful week. The house was so magnificent with so much living space for the seven of us. Everyone had their own bedroom and private bath; the kitchen was fabulous and the grounds and location were perfect. We could not have got along without Madame Demey who is the caretaker of the property. She was so helpful. I would highly recommend the entire experience to anyone wanting to stay in the Normandy area touring the WWII sights.

We will never forget our stay at this incredible property! it was perfect for the whole family! everything from the clean interiors to the polite and professional staff was top notch! the kids were entertained throughout the holiday and there was plenty of space both inside and out. the most memorable moments were the evenings spent on the patio cooking out on the barbecue with the family, the surroundings were so beautiful its hard to leave when your time is up! i cant wait to go back, would definitely recommend to any large groups looking for luxury ion the Norman countryside.

We will never forget our stay at this magical home! everything was perfect! form the clean interiors to the polite and professional staff, we would recommend this beautiful property to large groups looking for luxury in the heart of the Norman countryside. The kids were entertained for the whole trip and there was plenty of space inside and out! the most memorable moments for my wife and i were the evenings spent cooking out on the barbecue and enjoying a quiet meal with the whole family. 5* property, cant wait to go back!

We arrived at this stunning property in early June and the kids, my husband and I instantly fell in love with it! We felt like we had stepped into a fairy tale as the property is so clean and elegant and the gardens so beautiful. The staff were polite and inviting which made the stay even more memorable as the service was excellent the owner was very reasonable. The kids had plenty to keep themselves occupied with such as wireless internet for their iPad's, DVD players and satellite television which definitely came in handy after the long days out in the garden playing in the sand pit and park area. As a family we explored the surrounding area quite a bit and were amazed at what we found so close to the house! My husband, being an avid historian was fascinated when visiting the d-day memorials and landing sites and i found the wine tours to be delightful! The children enjoyed the tennis facilities and the cycling trials that were also close by. As a family we have all agreed that this was our favorite trip to France and it will be a holiday that stays in our hearts for ever! Would definitely recommend!

There were 9 in our group (one couple and the rest of us single) so we booked the Manor and the Guest Cottage. We were there around the time of the 70th Anniversary of the D.Day Landings; having travelled to Normandy together previously (some of us from Australia and others from UK) we were familiar with the area. We had the most wonderful stay at this property, it was even nicer than the photos and listing description...if that's possible! We were warmly welcomed by Madame and Monsieur Demey. It was immaculately clean, beautifully appointed, with the comfort of a home with everything you could want or need. It's a treasure of a place to visit, all the rooms have their own charm, you can tell it is a cared family home. The grounds are truly magnificent, you are stepping into a private estate, so many lovely spaces to enjoy, wander through and sit in. Goats, ducks, chickens, vegetable garden, open spaces, small spaces it was all there to take pleasure in. We were fortunate the weather was great throughout our time there, so we cooked at home, sometimes BBQ's and sat outside a lot. We also kept returning to a local restaurant we found as well, and had a great dinner there on our last night together. The location is so central and gives you great access to the beaches, Caen, Bayeux etc. There is a large supermarket about 5 mins drive from the property. We went to the Caen market on the Sunday, not to be missed, you can buy just about anything there, we bought great produce, meat, fish, vegs, fruit, cheese (lots of that!), clothing etc. My only regret is that with such a heavy schedule of things to do and places to go we didn't spend enough leisure time in the property, wish we'd had two weeks there! I have a dream of returning to stay again. I highly recommend this property, you will not be disappointed.

We spent a week at Le Haule in Normandy. The cottage was the perfect place to come back to after a busy day of driving and walking various areas. We usually ate breakfast outside on the picnic table as it was very quiet except for the friendly rooster who crowed. Madame Demey the caretaker cooked for us two nights. Great authentic country French cooking and she even made a rhubarb tort from fresh rhubarb from the garden. The town was a nice size with a Super U market very close as well and boulangeries in town. We visited the radar museum in town and found it interesting with videos that told stories of local residents on D-Day. The four of us were very happy that we chose to stay there instead of in a hotel.

We stayed this summer in the mansion and it was absolutely fabulous. After a warm welcoming from the owner with champagne we enjoyed this beautiful house very much. They just redid the entire living room as well some of the bedrooms and the dining room, so we stayed in an old, but very modern and on a high standard house. It felt just like in a hotel though we were between us, had great meals and fantastic trips to the beaches: The D-Day Beaches are not very far away and we took the bicycles to go there. Our kids could play on the playground in the garden and we were offered to use the vegetables from the vegetable garden which we did. There are also hens and geese, we took some eggs for breakfast. The only thing which was not so good was that there was no swimming pool, but as the owner has a hotel not far away from the property we were offered to use the pool of the hotel which we did and spend some lovely days there. Moreover, the sea is not very far from the property and you can go swimming in the sea directly. We highly recommend la haule and will surely come back for our next family reunion!
